Tree Plantation Ceremony and Eye Donation Camp

Objective

To create green belt and avenues for meeting aesthetic recreational needs to the people

To reduce the impacts of air pollution and dust

Improve scenic beauty

To ensure that students understand the importance of trees

Short Description

The “Tree plantation Ceremony” started at around 10:30am. The trees were planted in the field adjacent to AU-1 building.

The inauguration of the event was done by Honorary Vice Chancellor by planting the first tree with alumni and students of the university.

The respected deans, HODs and Professors also participated in the event.

Altogether 20 trees were planted which included both fruits as well as flowers.

The event ended at around 11:45am and there was a big smile in the face of all participants.

  3. The importance of protecting and planting trees was understood.
  4. It helped create closer relation between existing students and alumni.

Eye Donation Camp (pledgee)

Objective

It’s a noble act

Donated eyes can be used to restore vision in people who are suffering from corneal blindness.

Short Description

The event started at around 1pm after the arrival of doctors from Medical College.

An eye donation awareness campaign was held in AU-1 auditorium. The doctors explained the entire process and also answered all relevant queries of the audience.

Those who wanted to donate their eyes had to fill a form. There were all together 48 Donors

TIE UP WITH REGIONAL INSTITUTE OF OPHTHALMOLOGY (RIO), MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL (GOVT. OF WB)

The eye donation camp was organised in association with RIO, Medical College and Hospital with the intention of doing something for the society.
